Job Description
Job Title: Street Cleaner
Reports to: Parish Clerk
Hours: The position is part time, 7 hours per week
(Worked ideally on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but there is some flexibility here.)
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Location: Routes include Poplicans Road, White Leaves Rise and Ladywood Road, as well as the recreation ground.
Overall Responsibility
To help maintain safety, drainage and aesthetics of the village, by keeping the streets and recreation ground clear of leaves, debris and litter.
Key Tasks
1) Walk set routes around the village, with a mobile street cleaning cart, clearing litter, leaves and weeds from footpaths and gutters into waste sacks.
2) Empty all litter & dog waste bins on set route and replace sacks.
3) Empty litter bins and collect litter from recreation ground, including play area and bike track.
4) Return all full waste sacks to the green bins by recreation ground entrance for collection.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Health and Safety.
The post-holder will take reasonable care for their health and safety and that of other persons who may be affected by their activities. Safeguarding, where appropriate, the health and safety of all persons under their control and guidance in accordance with the provisions of Health and Safety legislation. The post holder will exercise proper care in handling, operating and safeguarding any equipment or appliances provided and issued by the Parish Council or provided or issued by a third party for individual or collective use in the performance of their duties.
