STATEMENT OF REASONS
This Order is intended to introduce or amend No Waiting restrictions in various locations (Allhallows, High Halstow, Isle of Grain, Halling, Hoo St Werburgh, Chattenden, Cliffe, Cuxton, Upnor, Wainscott) for the purposes of improving road safety, visibility of pedestrians, junctions and oncoming vehicles, traffic management and vehicular access throughout the public road network, including for buses, and to enable access to local amenities. Additional specific purposes are given below.
Proposals are put forward in response to concerns raised by residents, businesses, local councillors, motorists generally, public services, emergency services, delivery services and/or where accident data highlights an issue. They are prioritised within a Works Programme that is agreed for each financial year.
4. Charles Drive, Cuxton – to extend the restrictions westwards from opposite Ladywood Road, outside No.112, to manage the street parking and ensure adequate space to travel west (without causing damage to parked vehicles). This is also a bus route and vehicles parking on the north side do so using the footway, leaving a narrow lane for traffic to get through;
