Grant Making Policy
Cuxton Parish Council recognises the importance of supporting groups, organisations and charities that benefit the local community. Providing grants is a one way of providing such support. The purpose of this document is to ensure that Cuxton Parish Council has an open, consistent and easily understood approach to awarding grants.
This Council will only awards grants that satisfy the following conditions.
1. Grants will be considered once a year at the March meeting of the full Council. Only in exceptional circumstances will this arrangement be waived, pending agreement of the majority of the members to accept such application. The closing date for receiving applications is 1st March.
2. Grants will only be made to non-political, non-profit making groups/organisations, educational establishments or charities.
3. The council has a limited budget for grants, normally grants in excess of £750 would not be considered, further information and guidance may be obtained by contacting the clerk. clerk@cuxtonpc.org.uk
4. Applicants must be based or operate within the Parish of Cuxton.
5. The amount requested must be used primarily or exclusively to benefit Cuxton residents.
6. The application must be made on the appropriate form.
7. Applicants must agree to:
a. provide, within 11 months of receiving a grant, evidence that the whole award has been used in accordance with the application.
b. return any part of the award for which such evidence is not, or cannot be, provided.
c. where such evidence is not provided further grants from the organisation will not be considered.
d. the condition that grant monies will only be paid to organisations who have a registered business account in their name which must be the same named organisation which submitted the application. Grant monies cannot be paid to an individual’s personal bank account.
