Cuxton Parish Council has a vacancy for an additional Parish Councillor, and we are now accepting applications from eligible members of the Parish.

Eligibility:
To be a eligible to be a Parish Councillor you must:
- Be a Commonwealth citizen, a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, a qualifying EU citizen, or an EU citizen with retained rights
- Be a minimum of 18 years old
and
- satisfy at least one of the following statements:
*a. I am registered as a local government elector for the area of the parish named above; or
*b. I have, during the whole of the 12 months preceding my appointment occupied as owner or tenant land or other premises in the parish named above; or
*c. my principal or only place of work during those 12 months has been in the parish named above; or
*d. I have during the whole of those 12 months resided in that parish named above or within 4.8 kilometres of it.
- You must also not be disqualified (details of this are on the application form).

The deadline for applications is: 17th February 2025
Any submissions received after the deadline will only be considered at the discretion of the Parish Council.
Selection Process:
The Parish Clerk will provide the details of all eligible candidates to the Parish Council for consideration.
The Council will then decide whether to interview all eligible candidates.
If there are multiple candidates, the existing Parish Councillors will vote. A candidate will be chosen by a clear majority.
