Aims & Objectives

The aims of Cuxton Parish Council are:

  • To protect the rural character and environment of the village from urban encroachment
  • To continually improve the quality, range and value for money of the services and facilities provided by the council to the village community.
  • To operate in a green and sustainable manner, and adopt policies that actively encourage others to do so.
  • To encourage and support local community groups and charities in their work within the village.
  • To be proactive, transparent and informative in our approach to village issues by the use of meetings, our website and our newsletter.

Objectives for 2025/2026

Aside from all legal and regulatory compliance, in the next year, the Parish Council aim to:

  • Repair the courts and reopen them for sports use.
  • Establish a plan for the repurposing of the Roundel building.
  • Complete the ‘rock snake’ project.
  • Install a bench on James Road for pedestrians to rest on half-way up.
  • Install additional seating in the playground.
  • Host successful events: Parish Assembly, Big Lunch & Christmas Tree Lighting event.
  • Qualify for the general power of competence.
  • Commence Tree planting scheme.
  • Continue the campaign to see the s106 money, owed from the development of the St Andrews Park estate, used for Highway improvements in Cuxton. (Medway Council dependent).
